Sakku Investments Corporation owns one company outright: — Sakku Properties, a real estate company with property holdings in Rankin Inlet — and is the majority owner of Sakku Drugs, a retail pharmacy in Rankin Inlet.
Sakku Investments also has twentybusiness partners, including the Jacques Whitford and the Northwest Company and Jacques Whitford. Sakku partners also include its three sister Inuit Birthright Corporations operating in Nunavut.
Sakku Properties
Sakku Properties Inc. was established in 1994 as a real estate development and management company. As of 2009, property holdings included residential houses in Rankin Inlet; two commercial garages used for auto and machine repair; and a 15,000 square foot commercial office with long-term leases. Real estate holdings are sound and generate increasing net income.
Sakku Drugs
Sakku Drugs Ltd. (SDL) was established in 1994 with SuperThrifty Drugs Canada Ltd. Under an agreement with the company, Super Thrifty Drugs Canada provides management services and earns a franchise fee based on sales. Profits are split proportional to equity held in the company.
A partnership with the recently constructed Rankin Inlet Health Centre has been a catalyst for increased sales in recent years.
M & T Enterprises
M & T Enterprises is a long time business leader in the Kivalliq area. M & T is already an industry leader in such areas as freight handling, overland hauling, storage, fuel delivery and civil construction. Sakku acquired 1/3 of this business in May of 2008 and will look to continue to sharpen M&T's competitive advantages in the industries in which it already excels.
