With funding support provided by Kivalliq Inuit Programs and Services the Sakku Investments Corporation has contracted the services of NVision Insight Group Inc. to conduct a 2 Phase Labour Market Research project for the Kivalliq region. In Phase 1 from November 2019 to March 2020, Sakku and NVision will engage with public and private sector decision makers; community stakeholders and training departments and organizations to receive their input on what information would be most helpful to assist them with Inuit Employment and Training decisions. The feedback received will be compiled into a Terms of Reference that will inform process and content of a Comprehensive Labour Market Assessment to follow in 2020-2021.
The intent of our work is to provide Employment and Training decision makers and community stakeholders with current and relevant Labour Market information that will assist public and private sector employers to hire, train and retain Inuit employees. Another key outcome of this research is to provide training organizations and departments with direct information that will help facilitate planning and implementation of programs and support targeted to specifically identified needs of Kivallirmiut.
