The Kivalliq Hydro-Fibre Link is an Inuit led project to bring clean power and high speed internet to Nunavut from Manitoba. The project is in the planning stages right now and is collecting information that will help design and consider the project. In the coming weeks an aerial survey will be flown to gather information on the potential route. A fixed wing aircraft will fly the entire route at approximately 4,200 ft (1,300 m) to collect LiDAR data. You may see this aircraft as it requires clear weather and limited cloud cover. We are also working with Nunavummiut to prepare for training and employment opportunities.
More information will be shared as it is available. Please learn more at
