EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

Building Maintainer

Sakku Investments Corporation has an opening for a Building Maintainer. The incumbent will be responsible for conducting condition ratings, routine repairs, and maintenance procedures, as well as responding to tenant and/or National Building Code requirements. The Building Maintainer also performs preventative maintenance duties on Sakku’s properties.ns.

  • Certification in a building trade, i.e.; OBM, Plumber, Electrician, Building Maintainer (OBM certification is preferred)
  • Alternatively, 3 or more years of working experience as a Maintainer; and one year experience working with a computerized management system (MMOS) or similar program
  • Demonstrated knowledge of furnaces, boilers, carpentry, and electrical applications
  • The successful candidate must posses a valid class 5 driver’s license
  • Must have good knowledge of applicable codes, including the National Building Code, National Fire Code, Plumbing code, and HVAC
  • Ability to speak Inuktitut and experience with tenants is considered an asset
  • Good time management skills are necessary, including the ability to prioritize tasks and to meet deadlines


  • Starting salary is $72,000 per annum (commensurate with experience) with a northern allowance of $8,000, a housing allowance of $16,000 (based on eligibility), and a benefits package that includes an employee pension plan, group insurance, and vacation travel assistance.
